I’m sure I’m not the only person out there who was introduced to the concept of “surviving outer space without a spacesuit for a few seconds” by 2001. Maybe you first learned about it somewhere else … regardless, the whole idea is pretty wild!

While I was drawing the second panel of this page, it made me think of my grandma. First time I ever realized that Doc is actually based a little bit on my grandma — they have some similarities of attitude and whatnot! Still, it ended up being a warm, pleasant panel to draw…
Anyway, finally, another episode comes to a happy ending. (Have you noticed each one keeps getting a bit longer? 
) Give Space Kid about a week to mend, and he’ll be back with the beginning of — yes — another new adventure! Hope you’ll come back for that!

Much as I described the Venus of Space Kid! in Episode One, the Mars that appears in this series is a “30s-and-40s throwback pulp Mars”, somewhat similar to what appeared in stories like those of C.L. Moore or Leigh Brackett. I do this primarily because those “old” planets are way more fun than the real ones!
